The problem

Prospects often asked the sales team the same first question: where should I publish, and what would it cost? Answering properly meant a custom media plan. A salesperson had to research outlets that matched the prospect’s niche, country and budget, then come up with angles worth pitching. A good plan took at least 20 minutes, and many requests never became customers.

What I built

A self-serve media plan generator that works as a lead magnet. The prospect fills in a short form: name, company website, industry, language, target market, goal and budget. The answers land in a spreadsheet, which triggers a script.

The script pulls matching outlets from the platform’s live catalog through its API, filtered by market and budget. It then asks an AI model for content angles written for that specific company and market, and assembles everything into a branded email: three angles, each paired with fitting outlets, their authority score, organic traffic and price, and a link to order.

Outlets only ever come from the catalog, so the AI cannot recommend a publication that doesn’t exist or quote a price that isn’t real. The hardest part was the angles themselves: getting them specific to the prospect’s country and industry rather than generic PR advice took most of the prompt work.

The result

A plan that took a salesperson 20 minutes now reaches the prospect in about three minutes, at a cost of a few cents. Dozens of prospects have received one with no one on the sales team involved, and every request is saved as a lead. The same setup can pass leads to a CRM or a sales chat by webhook.
